The Brecks has two dedicated organisations which work in partnership to promote, protect and enhance this very special area – The Brecks Tourism Partnership and the Brecks Countryside Project.

The Brecks Tourism Partnership

The Brecks Tourism Partnership brings together businesses and communities committed to developing and promoting sustainable tourism in the area.

Members of the Partnership include award winning accommodation providers such as bed and breakfasts, hotels, camping and caravan sites and self catering cottages, a range of attractions including nature reserves and country parks, historic houses, bike hire and walking and cycling groups. The needs of disabled communities and visitors are also represented.

Lord Iveagh of Elveden is the Chairman of The Brecks Tourism Partnership.

In 2002, a three year project was developed by the BTP which received .5M of European funding from the European Regional Development Fund which was match funded by EEDA/Keystone Development Trust Single Regeneration Budget, Suffolk and Norfolk County Councils, Breckland Council and Brecks Countryside Project. The key aims of the project were to promote and market the area as a leading sustainable visitor destination; raise an awareness of the local distinctiveness of the area and encouraging non-car exploration.

The Brecks Countryside Project

The Brecks Countryside Project exists to ‘champion the conservation of the landscape, wildlife and history of the Brecks'. It was set up in 1992 to co-ordinate management of the area. A Joint Advisory Panel is unique in the area as it brings together representatives from both statutory and non-statutory bodies throughout The Brecks.

The partnership aims to promote an understanding of the area and the need for its conservation, as well as ensuring any developments and activities are sustainable.

The Project’s objectives are to promote the conservation and quiet enjoyment of The Brecks unique landscape, built environment, wildlife and historic qualities.

The project is funded by Suffolk and Norfolk local authorities within The Brecks
